Kishan trains with the Pandya brothers at Kiran More Academy.
Ishan Kishan ‘s protracted absence from professional cricket has sparked concerns about his attitude and commitment. The wicketkeeper-batsman has been sighted working out and practising in Baroda. The 25-year-old keeper-batter has been stationed in Baroda for the past few weeks to hone his talents at the city’s Reliance Stadium. However, there is no indication of when he will return to action.
Kishan has been practicing at the Kiran More Academy in Baroda, a prominent cricket training facility in Gujarat. Alongside the Pandya brothers, Hardik and Krunal. Hardik Pandya is the captain of the Mumbai Indians, an IPL team that Kishan also represents.
Kiran More revealed to the media that Kishan is training at his academy. They couldn’t say much because the former India wicketkeeper is currently in Mumbai with the Mumbai Indians’ (WPL) team.
Kishan has not played a game since November of last year, and since leaving the team setup in South Africa in mid-December. He has shown no interest in playing competitive cricket, despite national coach Rahul Dravid’s suggestion that he participate in some games if he wants to be considered for national selection.
However, it has been announced that he would not play in his home state’s Ranji match against Haryana in Jamshedpur on February 9. There are questions regarding whether his continuous absence will influence the BCCI’s consideration of core contracts. He is currently in Grade C and receives an annual retainer of Rs 1 crore. With KS Bharat not doing well, Ishan had a strong chance of playing in the upcoming Test series against England, but he may have missed out.
Rahul Dravid on Ishan Kishan
When asked about his possibilities, coach Dravid said, “I really don’t want to go on about the Ishan Kishan thing. I didn’t say he had to play domestic cricket; I suggested he should play some cricket and then return. The decision is his. We’re not forcing him to do anything. We’re in touch with him.
“We understand what it is. Kishan hasn’t started playing yet, right? At the moment, it is not something we would consider. Maybe he’s not ready. He determines when he wants to be prepared. The IPL, which runs from March to May, is now the earliest Ishan can play.
The Indian team selection for the final three Tests is due during the next two days, and it is now clear that Virat Kohli will not be in the squad, as previously hinted by this website. Kohli has gone overseas due to a family emergency, and he is said to have notified the BCCI that he will be unavailable for any of the five Tests against England.
