WPL 2024: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the Women’s Premier League (WPL) would return from February 23 to March 17, following a successful debut edition. Bengaluru and Delhi will host the women’s T20 cricket tournament this year, rather than Mumbai and Navi Mumbai as they were last year.

At the first match, defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on previous year’s finalists Delhi Capitals (DC) at Bengaluru. The first leg of the competition, which runs till March 4, is planned to take place in the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, and then subsequent will be matches hosted at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

WPL 2024 Tournament Format

The tournament is scheduled to include 22 matches, including the eliminator and final. The team that leads the points table will advance directly to the final, and the opponents will be chosen by an eliminator match between the second and third-placed Teams.

The scheduling method eliminates double-headers, with only one WPL match scheduled per day until the league stage ends and matches are scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM IST.
