IND vs ENG 2nd Test: Jadeja, Rahul ruled out of Vizag Test
IND vs ENG 2nd Test: In a double blow to India, who lost the 1st test in Hyderabad. Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul have been ruled out of the 2nd Test in Visakhapatnam, which begins on February 2.
On Day 4 of the Hyderabad match, Jadeja sustained a hamstring injury while batting. During India’s second innings, Jadeja attempted a quick single but was caught short by a direct hit from Ben Stokes. While sprinting for the race, he was observed gripping his hamstring. We had stated that the team management was awaiting scans, which have now ruled him out of the game. Rahul, meanwhile, has complained of right quadriceps soreness and will miss the game.
With the 2 out, the selection committee has added Sarfaraz Khan, Saurabh Kumar, & Washington Sundar to the second Test team. All of whom played for India A in the ongoing series against the England Lions. Sarfaraz joins the squad after scoring a stunning 160-ball 161 with 18 fours and 5 sixes in India A’s 2nd Test against the England Lions last week. Saurabh Kumar also contributed to the home team’s innings triumph, with a fifer in the second innings.
