Right then! That is all we have from this game. The action in the BBL continues on Manic Monday, the 10th of December as we have two games lined up for you. In the first match, Hobart Hurricanes take on Sydney Thunder and that one will begin at 8:40 am IST (3:10 am GMT). In the second match, Melbourne Stars will face Adelaide Strikers which will begin at 1:45 pm IST (8:15 am GMT). The Stars are welcoming as many as 9 PLAYERS back from Covid isolation, so they would be hoping to reverse their fortunes. The coverage for both matches will begin a lot sooner. Do join us then. Cheers!
Ashton Turner is the Player of the Match. He says, they knew it would be a tricky chase. Adds that they gave away a few extra runs with the ball in the end. Mentions, the Sixers have beaten them in similar condition in the past and that has helped the players to learn of these guys and he is very happy with the way his bowlers reacted to the situation. Mentions, they are playing good cricket and hopes to continue the same.
... Presentation time ...
The score put on by the Sixers was certainly a bit below par but after the start Ben Dwarshuis gave them with the ball, they must have thought that they can win it. Shadab Khan then came in and got a wicket as well but after that, the Sixers failed to build up any sort of pressure as Hardie was allowed to get Turner back on strike without having to take a risk and that is where the Sixers lost the match. Turner smashed the bowlers to all parts of the ground but it was Dwarshuis again who created an opportunity on the first ball of the Power Surge. Hughes spilled the catch and after that, the Sixers just couldn't recover. They did pick up a couple of wickets at the death but the match had already been lost.
No Colin Munro, no problem. The skipper, Ashton Turner really came to the party tonight to lead a depleted Scorchers team to a fine victory here. The top order failed to give their team a strong start as Ben Dwarshuis knocked over Patterson and Bancroft on consecutive deliveries. They lost Evans as well but then came a mammoth 91-run stand between the skipper and Hardie in which the former did the bulk of the scoring. Turner did fall towards the end and so did Hardie with just 8 runs needed to win. It was veteran, Chris Sabburg who was on debut tonight for the Scorchers who hit the winning runs. Perth Scorchers stay firmly in top spot.
Perth Scorchers with yet another cruising victory and they have done the double over arch-rivals Sydney Sixers, keeping them rooted in third place. Even though it got a bit nervy in the end, Chris Sabburg kept his cool and saw his side home. Great performance overall.

OUT! CAUGHT! Shadab Khan takes a beauty and Sydney Sixers are still in it. Hayden Kerr sends back a set batsman in Aaron Hardie. A short ball, on off. Aaron Hardie stays back and looks to pull it away. The ball goes off the outside edge towards square leg. There was a bit of a confusion between Shadab Khan and Hayden Kerr, as the former thought Kerr is charging in for the catch but he does now. Khan keeps his eyes on the ball and in the last second jumps to his right to gather the catch.
