That is it from this match! England win comprehensively. They have the big Ashes coming up next. And overall, a lot of cricket across the world. From here, that is it! Goodbye and cheers!
Ollie Pope wins the Player of the Match.
Ireland’s second innings did not begin that well. An innings defeat looked certain when they lost their middle and top order for not a lot. However, a spirited effort from Adair and Andy McBrine helped Ireland avoid an innings defeat. Both did not get to a ton but added over 150. Avoiding an innings defeat was a commendable effort from the visitors. The target they set though was a small one and it was chased without breaking a sweat.
Ireland though can be very happy about how they performed in their second innings with the bat. However, it was their first effort with bat and ball which took the game away from them completely. After being inserted on Day 1, they were bundled out for below 200 courtesy a five-fer from Broad. In reply, England scored a massive score thanks to a double ton from Pope and a big hundred from Duckett. They managed to take a lead of over 300.
So, the third session of Day 3 does not last for long. England managed to take the last wicket quickly and chased the little runs they needed in no time. A convincing win for the hosts and one expected nothing other than that.

...THE CHASE...
England need 11 runs to win. May be an over or two required to chase it down. Stay tuned as the chase is coming up.
Josh Tongue leads the team as the debutant ends with a five-fer. England have done well to take the final wicket. They need an over so so now to finish things off. Credit to Ireland, for the way they played. Harry Tector, Mark Adair and the knock from Andy McBrine made sure England had to bat again. It was the stand between Adair and McBrine that made the big difference. The pitch was a flat one but England stuck to their plans and took the wicket when it mattered the most.
James McCollum has not recovered from the injury suffered and won't be able to participate any more with the bat. As it stands, James McCollum is retired out.
