Right then. That's it from the coverage of this game. The action in the CSA T20 Challenge continues on the 9th of February with two matches lined-up yet again. In the first game, Rocks will take on Titans at 1330 IST (0800 GMT). Followed by a game between Western Province and Warriors, which will start at 1800 IST (1230 GMT). The build-up begins a lot earlier though. Do join us for it! Till then take care and goodbye.
Prenelan Subrayen, the victorious skipper, also wins the BOWLER OF THE MATCH AWARD. He says, the opening pair batted with composure and later, David and Andile capitalized on the same. Mentions, having won the opening game is a foot in the right direction.
Keegan Petersen is the BATTER OF THE MATCH. He says that he is happy to be in the middle playing cricket, as it has been a couple of months of laying low. Mentions that he would love to be with the South African squad, but such is life. Says that it does not matter where he is paying, he is here to get the job done and perform for his team.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
It was always going to be difficult to defend a below-par target, but Knights could not even put up a fight. A major drawback of their innings was that they gave away too many extra runs. Which did most of the job for the opposition. After sending back Petersen, the bowlers tried to apply some pressure with dot balls and soon sent back the other opener as well. But later, they lost their track yet again and hence, ended up on the losing side.
A remarkable performance with the blade! Keegan Petersen was supposed to travel with the national squad, but he missed out on the tour as he was contracted by the virus. Although, he got permission to play in the domestic circuit. Keegan Petersen looked like a different man, as he racked up runs nonchalantly and built a solid foundation along with Grant. But once Petersen fell, the run rate slowed down, and the latter slipped out as well. Later, David Miller and Andile Phehlukwayo stitched a solid stand to get their side over the line with two overs to spare.
So, the trend continues in this CSA T20 season, and for the fourth consecutive time, the team that won the toss ends up on the losing side. Dolphins dominated with the ball first and later their batters chased down the target with ease to start their campaign on a winning note.
