That's a wrap to this game! The 4th and final T20I of the Karachi leg is on 25th September (Sunday) at 8 pm IST (2.30 pm GMT). Do join us in advance for the build-up. Cheers!
Moeen Ali, the captain of England, says that it was a brilliant win and calls their performance with the bat ruthless. Praises Harry Brook for his amazing knock and feels he will become one of the top batters in future. He is immensely pleased with the way they bowled as well. Adds that the boys have the experience of playing in the PSL and lauds the batting of Will Jacks on debut. He is very upbeat about the future of England. Regarding Mark Wood, Moeen replies that he bowled serious pace in this game and it's great to have him back in the mix.
Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, says that they lost too many wickets in the Powerplay and the pressure came on the batting order. Feels that they use the bowlers as per the situation but admits that the bowling was not up to the mark. Wants to sit down and fix this issue. Praises Shan Masood for his knock and hopes that he keeps doing well.
Harry Brook is the Player of the Match for his 35-ball 81. Says that it's nice to get a match-winning performance. Adds that the pitch was quite similar and hitting through the line was the plan. Mentions that he had a game plan and stuck to it. Shares that against the spinners, he was trying to get Ben Duckett on strike as he is exceptional in finding the gaps.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
Earlier in the evening, an unbroken stand of 139 from 69 balls between Ben Duckett and Harry Brook gave England the extra 22 runs that they perhaps needed last evening. It turned out to be a massive cushion here and with the bowlers displaying ruthless form, it was a stroll in the park for the touring team to go 2-1 up.
Chasing a massive target, Pakistan lost four wickets in the Powerplay and that nearly put everything to bed. Shan Masood and Khushdil Shah put up a little fightback but that was never going to be enough. England will be immensely pleased after what happened on Thursday. The inclusion of Mark Wood and Reece Topley provided them with some extra bite in the pace department, and that certainly helped them this evening.
A contrasting evening with the bat for Pakistan. They made a mockery of the last target as they scaled down 200 with utmost ease. But as the saying goes - Every day is not Sunday! The hosts were given a reality check once again, regarding their batting, especially below Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam. The middle order of Pakistan failed yet another litmus test under pressure and doubts continue to loom large over their ability to perform, if the top order flops. Shan Masood laid down the marker for a permanent spot in the starting XI with his effort but all in all, it was a pretty abject show from the Men in Green.
End of yet another high-scoring but a one-sided game! England were up for the challenge and outplayed the home team in all the facets of the game.
