Right then, that is it from our coverage of match number 16 of the Pakistan Super League where Quetta Gladiators took those two points home and Karachi Kings were left with a defeat. We will be back for the encounter on Saturday 17th March where Lahore Qalandars will clash against Peshawar Zalmi. The first ball will be bowled at 2.30 pm IST (9.00 am GMT) but our coverage will start much earlier. Until then, goodbye and cheers.
Sherfane Rutherford is the Player of the Match for his scintillating performance.
Earlier in the innings, almost everyone gave a good start to Karachi Kings' batting innings but failed to convert them. James Vince took the innings deep with his knock. The highlight of the batting innings was the explosive knock by Anwar Ali in the final over which gave them the much necessary boost. For Quetta Gladiators, Abrar Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three wickets along with some support from the rest.
On the other hand, Karachi Kings, after a poor start, bounced back with wickets from Shoaib Malik and Hasan Ali to send the two set batters back to the pavilion. Hasan Ali and Zahid Mahmood took more wickets and almost brought them back in the game. However, Mohammad Nawaz and Anwar Ali were too expensive and in the end, Sherfane Rutherford and Akeal Hosein took the game away from Karachi Kings.
Quetta Gladiators have won the game courtesy of a brilliant fightback by Sherfane Rutherford and Akeal Hosein. They have earned their team a win. It started with Jason Roy and Saud Shakeel providing a strong start to the team. Khawaja Nafay, Rilee Rossouw, and Sarfaraz Ahmed failed to take the innings further but Sherfane Rutherford and Akeal Hosein made sure that they didn't lose any further wickets and sealed the game for their team.
