That is it then! A double-header to start the year 2023, Brisbane Heat will take on Sydney Sixers shortly at 1345 IST (0815 GMT). Do join us for the build up as well. Till then, cheers!
Josh Inglis is the Player of the Match.
Melbourne Renegades needed a better score. They didn't get any contributions from the top. Aaron Finch though with his 65 made sure they end with a decent total. However, the bowlers needed to deliver something special. They took the game until the end but it wasn't enough.
It was Faf du Plessis who gave a good start. He was blossoming on the top and got a good hand from Cameron Bancroft. Faf fell but Cameron Bancroft played a handy cameo. It was Josh Inglis who was the main architect though. He made sure to stay in the end and take his team over the line. That's the reason Perth Scorchers are on top this season. In every single game, different batters are putting their up. Perth Scorchers will be really happy with this win. Some way to start the new year.
A really good game but it always looked like Melbourne Renegades were 10-15 runs short. They now register their fourth loss in a row while in contrast, Perth Scorchers stay on top of the table with yet another win. Their fourth on the trot.

A single and that is game! A yorker on middle, Hobson eases it to long on for a single. Perth Scorchers win by 5 wickets.

OUT! LBW! The game is not yet over. Melbourne Renegades are still fighting. A yorker, tailing on leg. Inglis opens his body to flick but seems to miss and gets hit on the pads. An appeal for LBW and up goes the finger. Inglis was quick to review. Might be going down and the Ball Tracking shows it is clipping the stumps. THREE REDS.

Well bowled! A lovely full ball, down leg. Aaron Hardie looks to flick but misses and it goes through the legs.
