So, that is all from this one sided affair. Welsh Fire Women have to wait as Trent Rockets Women will take on Oval Invincibles Women shortly. That game could prove to be the knockout game in either situation so don't miss it. Switch the tabs and join us there.
Hayley Matthews wins the Player of the Match award for her all-round performance. She says she was able to get some purachse and just tried to bowl in good areas. Tells they haven't yet cllicked 100% with the bat but mentions it was a good performance today from Tammy Beaumont. Mentions it was a complete performance, the bowers were commendable and even the fielders did well to put them under pressure. Shares they are pleased with where they stand, they would have taken this scenario at the start of the season.
Welsh Fire Women had a small target to chase down but they were under pressure to win the game. However, the skipper showed no pressure at all. She came in with aggressive intent and right from the start, dealt with boundaries. Welsh lost Sophia Dunkley but Hayley Matthews, who had a great day with the ball stepped up with the bat as well to build a partnership with the skipper and in no time, chase it down together.
A dominating performance from Welsh Fire Women. It was a must win for them and they won by some authority. Earlier it was the bowlers, after winning the toss, Welsh Fire Women used the overcast conditions to great effect as the ball was turning, bouncing and swinging. Hayley Matthews took four wickets while Jess Jonassen ended with three wickets. It was a lone effort from Chloe Tryon as far as Southern Brave Women is concerned with the bat. Apart from her fifty, there was nothing much to add on. Her valuable knock meant Southern Brave Women end just over 100.
WELSH FIRE HAVE QUALIFIED! A dominating performance from the table toppers and they confirm the top three place! Also, they win by 26 balls to spare that helps them to better their net run rate. Could be, just could be that it will be Welsh Fire Women who'll directly play the finals but we still have to wait for the confirmation.
