That is all from this game. The action continues in the BBL. Join us on the 4th of this month for the action between Melbourne Renegades and Hobart Hurricanes. That should be an entertaining game. The action will start at 1.45 pm IST (8.15 am GMT). Join us earlier for the build-up as well. Cheers!
Laurie Evans wins the Player of the Match award. He himself is surprised with his innings but is happy to win in front of the home crowd. Adds Lance Morris was just brilliant and all credit to him for the way he bowled. Reckons they are taking it game-by-game and are expected to win home matches.
The way Laurie Evans played, it just tilted the game a bit towards Perth Scorchers as 180 was a par score on this pitch but Evans' quick and blistering innings made sure they end with 20-30 extra runs. Adelaide Strikers in reply did started really well. Matthew Short was ready to give his best. Despite wickets falling, Short kept the required run rate in check and they were in the game for a long period but as told before, once he fell, the game was over for Adelaide Strikers.
So, with this win Perth Scorchers go second on the table. A clinical performance from them. At one point, it felt like it will go down the wire but once Matthew Short fell, it was just a procession. Perth Scorchers had the runs to play with, they just had to keep it simple and they did well through out the innings. Till the halfway mark, it was anybody's game but Lance Morris came back and scalped the big wicket of Matthew Short. He ended with a five-fer but was well supported by the other bowlers as well.

OUT! TAKEN! Five-fer for Lance Morris and he has both his hands in the air. What a moment for him. Shorter and on middle. James Bazley looks to pull but top edges it high and to mid-wicket where Cooper Connolly holds onto it.
