Kraigg Brathwaite poses with the trophy and all his teammates join him for a group picture now. That is it from this series, it was a bit one-sided as West Indies were too strong to handle for Bangladesh but they have a chance to showcase their talent as the focus shifts on T20I cricket. The three-match series will start on Saturday, 2nd July at 11 pm IST (5.30 pm GMT). So, do join us early for the build-up. Cheers!
Kraigg Brathwaite, the skipper of West Indies says that the confidence of the guys on the back of the win was already high but the planning and execution were key. He then goes on to applaud the efforts of Kyle Mayers and Jermaine Blackwood and also mentions that the Bangladesh bowlers were pretty good as well. Adds that they want to bat for over a hundred overs and would like more batters to get to a century. Mentions that they need more partnerships and a bit more energy in the field to become better. Adds that all the pacers are pretty good and goes on to speak a few positive words about Roach, Phillip and Mayers. Ends by saying that it's all about attitude and it is not about who you are playing against and is looking forward to the next home red-ball series which is against Australia later in the year.
The skipper of Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan says that Test cricket is always difficult but they will take a lot of positives from this tour. Adds that after five months they will play a Test series at home and hence will go back and make a few adjustments. Mentions that their batting is not poor but they just need to concentrate a bit better and he believes that the side can compete with the best teams in the world. Also adds that they have a good string of pace bowlers and Khaled Ahmed did really well to pick up a five-fer which is pretty rare for their pacers but they need to play more as a team. Lastly, he mentions that the T20I and ODI squad will be more competent and hopes to put up a good fight.
Kyle Mayers is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH as well as the PLAYER OF THE SERIES for his all-around performance! Mayers says he just tried to be himself and it worked nicely. Adds that it is one of the best centuries as he wanted to do well in this series. Shares that he tries to make the batter play as much as possible and tries to adapt to the conditions. Tells that he carries the same mindset in all three formats and stays positive. On Kemar Roach, he is a role model as they look upon him. He gives his all and to see him achieve the milestone, Mayers is very happy for him.
Stay tuned for the Presentations...
West Indies will be high on confidence right now. It was a complete performance from them. The bowlers stepped up when it mattered the most and the batters came in with some crucial knocks to keep the team on top all the time. Recapping how the game went, the hosts after winning the toss and electing to bowl were clinical as they didn't allow many partnerships to grow in the first innings and kept Bangladesh to a bit under-par score of 234. Alzarri Joseph had an impressive outing as he took three wickets while Seales, Phillip and Mayers contributed with a decent spell as well. In reply, West Indies got a blistering start before losing their way in the middle. It was then Mayers and Blackwood who did the repair work and helped West Indies take the lead. Mayers scored a brilliant century in the process and helped the hosts to take a big lead of 174 runs. Later, Bangladesh had a poor start once again with the bat and they never really stood a chance against some fiery spell of bowling from the likes of Roach, Joseph and Seales. Nurul Hasan showed good determination but he ran out of partners and eventually with just 13 runs required to win, West Indies grabbed the series with ease.
Bangladesh have a lot of work to do. No doubt there is tons of skills but some poor shot selection and lack of role knowledge have cost them the series. Their batting woes are a big worry as some of the dismissals have been very soft and tame. The senior players didn't step up and the standards were pretty low for the youngsters. Their bowling was decent with a few good spells from the pacers, especially Khaled Ahmed but a few big partnerships allowed the game to slip away from them. All in all, there is a lot of work to be done on the visitors' side as they look to brush this series away and concentrate on the upcoming white-ball leg of the tour.
West Indies sweep the series 2-0! A win was inevitable for the hosts and the batters had to come out to complete the formalities. A clinical performance overall and they clinch 24 World Test Championship points as well. Day 4 saw rain playing a huge role but it was just delaying the result which was always tilting on the hosts' side.

FOUR! Fine enough and that will be it, John Campbell has hit the winning runs! West Indies have won the Test match and the series as well. This is drifted on the pads and Campbell just tickles it 'round the corner beating the man at fine leg to his left to pick up the boundary. West Indies win by 10 wickets!

Beaten! Lovely delivery this from Ebadot Hossain, a touch fuller and in that channel around off. The ball shapes back in beautifully and beats John Campbell past the inside edge.

In the air and dropped! Banged in short and on leg stump, John Campbell goes for the hook shot but mistimes it badly. The ball is skied towards the square leg fence. Ebadot Hossain runs to his right from deep backward square leg and stretches but fails to keep hold of the ball. Two taken and West Indies are just one hit away now from victory.
