Sikandar Raza, the captain of Zimbabwe starts off saying that it's disappointing to have been at 52 after 6 overs and to get all out for 82 which has no explanation and unfortunately, the team is lacking the courage more than the skills. He then says that this tour has been one of the 'extremes' where either they have played exceptionally well or the other way around. He then talks about the lack of effort in training and preparing, which has impacted the side by not trusting their skills and failing to read the situations. After losing the toss, and being asked to bat first, Zimbabwe were bowled out for just 82 runs which was never going to be enough to defend. They started well with Brian Bennett playing a quick-fire cameo of 29 balls in 12 balls, but none of the other batters could make much impact as they lost their last six wickets for just 11 runs. Wanindu Hasaranga was the pick of the bowlers for Sri Lanka with four wickets while Angelo Mathews and Maheesh Theekshana picked up a couple of wickets each. Dilshan Madushanka and Dhananjaya de Silva chipped in with one each as well. While chasing, their openers almost finished the job by themselves, but Sean Williams dismissed Kusal Mendis and that was the only wicket that fell for the hosts. Nothing really to say about the performance of Zimbabwe as their batters failed to turn up for this crucial game, which ultimately cost them this game and the series.

We were expecting a more closely fought decider, but the Lankans have completely outplayed Zimbabwe here, and it looked like the visitors did not even show up for this game.
