Right then, that's all from this game. India Women have sealed this three-match T20I series with a game to go and will be now eyeing a 3-0 whitewash. On the other hand, Bangladesh Women had their fair share of moments in this game but were unable to get over the line. Nigar Sultana and Co. will look to finish the series strongly and avoid the whitewash. The third and final T20 of this series will take place on Thursday, the 13th of July at the same venue. The first ball will be bowled at 1.30 pm IST (8.00 am GMT). As always, you can join us early for the build-up. Until then, take care and goodbye!
Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of India Women, says that the total was part of a game as sometimes the plan doesn't work but credit to the bowlers that the team showed some character and won the game. Adds that in this series the team is having young bowlers and it is really important to trust them in tricky situations and they delivered as well.
Deepti Sharma is the Player of the Match for her all-round performance. She says that the track helped the spinners and she enjoyed it out there. Adds that her plan was simple to bowl dot balls. Mentions that the message was just to keep calm and stick to the plan they have worked on. Closes by saying that she focuses on finishing her job with effectiveness with both the bat and the ball.
Nigar Sultana, the skipper of Bangladesh Women, says that the bowlers did well to restrict India. Feels that she should have finished the game for her side. Adds that she did not get the start they wanted and also says that they are looking forward to the last game. On Sobhana Mostary, she says that she is under treatment and hopes that she can play in the next game.
Time for the presentations...
Earlier in the game, after Harmanpreet Kaur called it right and opted to bat first, India were off to a swift start courtesy of their openers. However, in no time, the visitors found themselves in a spot of bother at 33-3. Indian Women faced a trial by spin and did not seem to have any answers as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Thanks to contributions from Deepti Sharma and Amanjot Kaur, India crept their way to 95 runs. For Bangladesh, Sultana Khatun starred with a three-wicket haul.
As far as Bangladesh Women are concerned, it has been a story of two halves for them. Having done an exceptional job with the ball, Bangladesh Women were off to a shaky start with the bat. The hosts were all at sea against the Indian spinner until Nigar Sultana came in and provided stability. The Bangladesh skipper was unflustered by what was happening at the other end and kept her side in the game with a sensible knock. However, her dismissal in the penultimate over meant it was a bridge too far for the rest of the batting unit.
A clinical effort by the Indian spinners has helped them get over the line in the second T20I! Bangladesh Women have been given a taste of their own medicine and it is India Women who have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. With not a big total to defend, India Women needed early wickets to have a shot at winning the game. It was Minnu Mani who set the tone early for the visitors, followed by Deepti Sharma who accounted for the other opener. The likes of Shafali Verma, Bareddy Anusha and Jemimah Rodrigues came to the party as well and did an excellent job of drying up the runs. Nigar Sultana stood between them and the win but Deepti Sharma with her experience saw the back of the Bangladesh skipper. Despite having an expensive 2nd over, Shafali Verma was given the task of bowling the final over and she passed the test with flying colours.

OUT! RUN-OUT! Short of a length in middle, Nahida Akter clears her front leg and pulls it towards the deep mid-wicket region and completes the single but runs for a second too. The throw from Amanjot Kaur was pin point at the non-striking end as Shafali Verma picks it up and dislodges the bails.
Shafali Verma (2-0-14-0) will bowl the final over. Can she defend 9 runs?
