Right then, that’s it from this game but the action continues in the Abu Dhabi T10 competition. We have three more games lined up for you on 3rd December i.e., tomorrow. Delhi Bulls will take on the Morrisville Samp Army in the first game of the day. That game will begin at 5.00 pm IST (11.30 am GMT). But as know, you can always join us early for the build-up. Until then, goodbye and cheers!
Charith Asalanka, the skipper of Chennai Braves is up for a chat. He says that they did not feel the pressure and were always confident. Adds that they spoke about batting and bowling and what they can do differently. Mentions that the team is always energetic and it’s important to keep winning. Ends by saying that the guys played well and he is happy with the win.
Sikandar Raza is the Player of the Match for his impactful knock. He says that they were starting to lose a bit of momentum and he had to go hard and thankfully it came off. Adds that they could have won the game earlier but he failed to put away the bad balls and was critical of his performance. Mentions that T10 has brought the standard of international cricket even higher and can't wait to see it back in Zimbabwe.
Time for the Post-Match Presentations...
Earlier in the game, the Northern Warriors posted a decent score of 106 on the back of a brilliant fifty by Hazratullah Zazai while Adam Hose also played a fine cameo at the backend to finish the innings on a high. Mohammad Nabi was excellent with the ball for the Braves while Chris Sole and Junaid Siddique also bowled economical spells. The Northern Warriors have suffered back to back defeats and will need to regroup and plan better going forward in the season.
The Northern Warriors bowlers did put in a good effort and took the game deep but they were extremely poor in the field. The Warriors conceded as many as 21 extras and this took the game away from them. Abhimanyu Mithun was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 11 in his spell while Shamsi, Neesham, and Mathews snapped one apiece. The Northern Warriors tried hard till the end but failed to defend the target.
Chennai Braves came out victorious in a game that went right down to the wire. They defeated the Northern Warriors and got their second win of the season. Chasing 107 for the win, the openers struggled and failed to give any momentum. Stephen Eskinazi took the charge and smacked a few before Sikandar Raza blasted 25 runs off the Angelo Mathews over and sealed the game for the Braves. Charith Asalanka, at the opposite end, played a measured knock of 22* off 16 and got his side over the line in a tense chase. A much-needed win for the Chennai Braves after losing two games in a row.
