Later in the day, Warriors will go up against Highveld Lions and that fixture will begin at 6 pm IST (12.30 pm GMT). Do join us then and make sure you tune in early for the buildup. Cheers!
Prenelan Subrayen, the skipper of Dolphins, says that it feels good to get a win under their belt and this should take them in the right direction. Tells that they played well as a unit. Mentions that there are always some things to improve on and they will look to do that in the next game.
Ottniel Baartman is the BOWLER OF THE MATCH. He says that he is happy with his performance and as a bowling unit they have been doing well. Credits their bowling attack by saying that they stuck to their plans and it was a combined bowling effort.
Keegan Petersen is the BATTER OF THE MATCH. He says that he is happy to be playing again and happy to contribute. Adds that it can be a bit tricky sometimes to chase such totals but they took the game deep and Miller batted really well to take them over the line.
... THE PRESENTATION ...
North West Dragons' bowlers didn't have enough runs to play with and they also failed to make early inroads. Most of their bowlers were economical but they failed to capitalize after getting wickets in a cluster in the middle overs. The spinners kept the batters on their toes for a majority of the innings but defending 135 was always going to be a tough ask. In the end, Dolphins won the game with 8 balls to spare and the only good thing that happened for North West Dragons was that they didn't concede a bonus point to Dolphins.
Dolphins didn't have a huge target ahead of them but the opening pair of Keegan Petersen and Grant Roelofsen did a good job of laying a strong foundation. They stitched together a partnership of 60 runs before Grant Roelofsen perished. Keegan Petersen fell just short of his fifty and Marques Ackerman too, couldn't see his team through after a good start. Dolphins were in a slight spot of bother when they lost wickets in quick succession but it was the experience of David Miller which came in handy for them and he made sure that there were no more hiccups before Dolphins crossed the line.
A pretty comfortable victory in the end for Dolphins! Their opening batters set the chase up nicely for them and the experience of David Miller has taken them over the line in the end. North West Dragons' bowlers bowled their hearts out but failed to end up on right side of the result.
