Join us again as we bring you all the updates and excitement. Till then, have a good night.
Gurkeerat Singh Mann is the Player of the Match for his blistering knock. He says that it was a good pitch and they got off to a decent start as well. Adds that when he joined the skipper at the crease, they just tried to continue the momentum. Mentions that he took his time in the middle but once he got the read of the wicket, he started to play his shots. Says that it is amazing to see players like Robin Uthappa bat and he is lucky to be playing alongside some of the legends of the game.
Yuvraj Singh, the skipper of India Champions, says that his back feels fine right now and he will be getting the treatment and will be looking to play in the next game. He adds that as soon as he started hitting the ball cleanly, the back pain started and he was not willing to stress it more and walked off as they play a huge game tomorrow against Pakistan. He says that he is happy with the way they batted today, right from the start, and showed good character when they came out to bowl as well. Ends by saying that hopefully they try and do the same in the big game.
Floyd Reifer, the Head Coach of West Indies Champions says that the dressing room is still positive and they will focus on winning the next three games. Says that Chris Gayle had some issues with his back as he has been out of the game for a long time and it is difficult to play back-to-back games. Mentions that some of the players have a few niggles but they have a rest day and will look to come back stronger in the next games.
... TIME FOR THE PRESENTATIONS ...
The inevitable has happened and the match has been CALLED OFF! However, it's the India Champions who wins the match by 27 runs (D/L) after being asked to bat first by the West Indies Champions. A lot of positives for India as a batting unit, starting right at the top with Robin Uthappa who played a scintillating knock of 43 in just 18 deliveries up front to give India a superb start. It was then the partnership of 74 runs between the skipper Yuvraj Singh and Gurkeerat Singh Mann in the middle overs after losing Naman Ojha and Suresh Raina cheaply was the highlight of the day. Gurkeerat Singh Mann went on to score 86 of just 42 balls, staying Not Out till the end. A little scary for the skipper Yuvraj Singh as he had to walk off the field because of back pain. India Champions face Pakistan in their next league game and the fans will be hoping that Yuvraj Singh gets better before that match. India is now at the top of the table with 2 wins in 2 games, the same as Pakistan. West Indies Champions were sloppy in the field from the start. A few dropped chances of Gurkeerat Singh Mann on crucial occasions proved to be very costly misses. Coming out to chase 230 runs and walking away at 31/1 after 5.3 overs wasn’t a good enough start to their batting as well. It's been India’s day throughout and the bowlers were also doing a good job till the rain gods showed their presence. Well, that's been the story of the night, and the World Championship of Legends 2024 will be back again in the next chapter with another exciting game.

The ground staff are trying to get the water out of the covers while the Super Sopper is out as well now. It seems that the rain has stopped but the umpires need to be careful here to not aggravate the risk of injury to the players. Stick with us for further updates.
UPDATE - 11.50 pm IST (6.20 pm GMT) - The covers are still on and have been extended to the entire square of the ground as the rain is steady. There is a further delay until the rain stops or we hear something from the Umpires, either way, India Champions are looking in full control of the game and the result seems very much in favor of Yuvraj Singh and his team.
West Indies Champions are 31/1 after 5.3 overs and the Rain Gods have made their appearance in the match.
