Zeeshan Maqsood, the skipper of Oman, says that they got a good start but failed to carry in the end. Mentions that they needed a good total against a team like Ireland but failed to put up a show. Tells that they have to see where they went wrong and come back stronger. Adds that they have a day to rest and they will look forward to win the next game.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
A perfect performance from the Irish, they were right on the money with the ball, excellent in the field and they were clinical with the bat as well. Andy Balbirnie and Paul Stirling gave Ireland the desired start, they put together 103 runs and guided their side closer to victory. Paul Stirling did perish after a sublime knock of 51 but Andy Balbirnie stuck till the end and took Ireland over the line with ease. They have put on a dominant show and will look to carry on the same way.
Oman will be disappointed with their performance. Their batting was a concern again today as they managed to put a below-par total of just 137. They failed to deliver with the ball as well. They had no answers to the brilliant batting shown by the Irish. Khawar Ali did grab the big wicket of Paul Stirling but it was all too late by then. They have lost both their games and now the hosts have a lot to think about for the next game.
A comprehensive win for Ireland! They were in full control of the chase and have began this series with a win under their belt. Oman once again failed to put on a show with bat and the bowlers did not have much to defend. They have lost their second game in a row and will look to make amends and come back stronger.
