Shan Masood says the players responded really well after the first game, the bowlers set up the game for them. Shares they thought the pitch would dry up keeping the forecast in mind but still credit to the bowlers for the way they bowled. Reckons there should be a purpose and process throughout the game. Ends by crediting the way Kieron Pollard plpayed.
Mir Hamza, the Player of the Match. He says the bowlers collectively bowled really well. Adds his role is to take wickets in the powerplay and he just tries to do the job. Reckons there was some moisture in the pitch which helped him with the wickets.
...Presentation next...
Babar Azam says they were short of runs, they lost wickets at the wrong time. They were looking for a score of 180. Reckons the pitch was fresh, it was two-paced but they didn't build the innings well and it got normal to bat in the second innings.
Peshawar Zalmi needed wickets but except for Wood, the other bowlers struggled. The likes of Zeeshan and Jamal just weren’t at their best. Waqar Salamkheil also did not have the best of the first games. However, overall, Peshawar were quite under par and were beaten by a far better side.
They lost a wicket early but Muhammad Akhlaq got them off to a flier. He fell but James Vince and Shoaib Malik played sensibly to take them closer to the target. When Malik got out, there could have been a twist but Kieron Pollard played a fine cameo and along with Vince, helped their side cruise home.
A comfortable win then for Karachi and they have their first win of the tournament. Around 160 wasn’t going to be enough for Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings have chased it down without breaking a sweat.
