Shanaka looks to be very pleased out there. Starts off by thanking BCCI and special thanks to Shikhar Dhawan and Rahul Dravid and as for the question, yes it was by far their best bowling performance. Mentions he uses his bowlers smartly and puts himself in when required. Says that not only him, but all the boys put in the hard work as they want to become world class. Says many individuals are gems to SriLankan cricket and the hard work pays off. Expects to get a more positive start but adds that the players are young and will get better and better.
Shikhar Dhawan says he enjoyed the seires, it was a difficult situation for them and it was a good series for him as a captain and he is proud of how the boys played even in the matches they lost, the players showed a lot of character. States they wanted to win, it was an off day with the bat, they will analyze about it and try to improve. He feels they lost a lot of wickets and the Lankans bowled really well and there was a lot of pressure on them. Ends by saying he agrees that both the teams played in great spirit and he informs he was sharing his experience with the Lankan youngsters after the game.
MOM and Man of the Series, Wanindu Hasaranga, the birthday boy says the wicket was slow and our spinners bowled well. He always tries to bowl dot balls which helps him take wickets and the fielding was really good today. Mentions he is really happy that the boys played really well throughout both the series.
Earlier in the day, after being inserted India were bundled out for a very low score courtesy a brilliant performance from Hasaranga and the other Lankan bowlers. The target was chased down easily by the hosts to seal the series.
You really can't blame the bowlers to be honest! They did try their best. Especially Chahar who was quite magical! However, they just did not have enough, actually they did not even have close to enough.
A comfortable win in the end for Lanka! You could just see that they wanted to win this. Normally, chasing such a small target, teams would come out and go all guns blazing but that was not the case. They took their time and eventually got to the target. They though would have loved to chase it down without losing as many wickets as they did but they will still be happy. They just needed a couple of their batters to get off to starts and that was the case. Dhananjaya de Silva though was yet again the top scorer for them.
