So, that is it from this game then! Another game follows, it is the Melbourne Derby. That begins at 1405 IST (0835 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH, Riley Meredith, says that it was a good fight from the team. Says they needed wickets and the team did well. Adds that he just tried to bowl near the stumps and he felt he was in the game on the hat-trick ball. Tells that it was nice to get in the middle and get the wickets after missing previously. Informs that he is not feeling fully fit after the hamstring injury but is happy with the win.
Earlier in the day, after electing to bat, Caleb Jewell and Matthew Wade laid the platform for a huge score. Once the opener fell, Hobart lost wickets in heaps. Wade though hung in there and took his side close to 180. Thunder started off brilliantly but just like their opponents, they lost wickets in heaps after the 10th over and they just never recovered after that.
For Hobart, it was Jordan Thompson and Riley Meredith who changed the game! They were taking a real pounding initially but Thompson with two crucial wickets and that one over from Riley Meredith where he got Cutting and Davies took Thunder right on top. Then, the spinners got into their act. Short got Sams and Sandeep got Holt and Nathan McAndrew whose partnership did threaten for a bit. Thomas Rogers though did not have a great day. He really went the distance. The others though made up for him.
Thunder on the other hand, will be quite disappointed. They were cruising along. After losing an early wicket, Hales and Sangha counter-attacked. The two added 62 in no time before Hales fell. Sams then came in and did not let the momentum slip away. They needed just under 8 per over with 8 wickets in hand and at that stage, it seemed like they would get home easily. However, once Sangha fell, it all fell apart way too quickly for them. From 92 for 2 they ended up on 102 for 6. Holt and Nathan McAndrew then got the belief back with another stand but both fell in quick succession and then it was an uphill task for the lower order. Quite a poor effort from the middle order to be honest, this was a game Thunder should have won.
What a game of cricket! In the end, it is Hobart Hurricanes who have come out on top and ended the 6-game winning streak of the Thunder. Great character shown by them in this game, they seemed down and out at one point but they hung in there and have recorded an important win.
