Match Abandoned

Commentry
The two skippers and the umpires are having a chat! We are moments away from this game being called off we believe. Just as I write that, the two captains shake hands which means the game has been abandoned. We believe we were quite lucky to even have the amount of cricket we witnessed today as it was a total downpour earlier on. After the toss, it kept raining and we had a delay close to 3 hours. However, despite all of that, the groundsmen did a brilliant job and got us all set for a 9-over per side game. We did see first of those 9 overs but just as the innings ended, the rain returned and then the inevitable happened, the game was called off. Now this becomes a three game T20I series with the second one being played on the 31st of this month. That game will begin on 1100 local (1500 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye!
The second innings should have begun by now but that is not the case as the rain is still coming down. Covers are on. Difficult to see this game getting underway again. Well Russell is still not in his whites so that probably gives an indication that they do not expect this rain to pass quickly.
Now then, the target is not a big one but it is not going to be easy to chase one this wicket! Windies have a good bowling side and Pakistan will need to start well. A good second passage awaits but first, we will have to wait for the rain to pass.
The Pakistan bowling was good but there were quite a few boundary balls! However, Hasan Ali was superb. Usman Qadir and Shadab Khan too were good. Shaheen and Wasim though were a little expensive. Yes, 10 per over in a 9 over game might seem fine but the wicket is a good one for the bowlers so it will be considered expensive.
Pollard walks off with a smile! However, as he walks off, the rain comes down and so do the covers! However, that was 9 good overs of cricket but one has to believe Windies have got a good score as this is not the easiest of wickets to bat on. The hosts kept losing wickets at regular intervals but they kept hitting boundaries too. None of their batters made a huge contribution but everybody played a part. Their skipper though was the star for them with an excellent innings.

SIX! That is not where you should be bowling to Pollard at this stage. Afridi bowls a length delivery on middle, right in the arc of Pollard. He turns and pulls it over deep square leg for a biggie. Good end to the innings as WEST INDIES FINISH ON 85/5.

In the air, but safe! On a length on middle, Kieron Pollard pulls it towards mid-wicket. It lands safely and Pollard takes two comfortably.

FOUR! Pollard gets it right this time! Bangs a short ball on middle, Kieron Pollard is up for the challenge and pulls it towards deep mid-wicket for a boundary.

Very well bowled! Short of a length on off, Kieron Pollard looks to pull but misses.
It looks like Kieron Pollard has some issue with his bat. Change of bat for him. Let's see what he can do with his new bat in the last 4 deliveries.

A low full toss on middle, a slower one. Holder chips it to the vacant square leg region for a single.

Good length ball on off, Holder swings his blade hard but only to connect it with thin air around him. Good start from Shaheen Afridi.
Shaheen Afridi to bowl the final over.

A single to end! On middle, this is hit over the bowler's end. Not off the middle and one is taken.

Another dot! Gold at this stage! Length and around off, this one jags back in. Holder looks to push it on the off side but gets hit on the glove.
Jason Holder walks out to bat at No.7.

OUT! TAKEN! Hasan Ali has another one! This is a superb delivery! It is short and it is another slower one. Hetmyer looks to pull but the ball hits the splice and lobs towards the keeper where Mohammad Rizwan takes an easy catch. Pakistan have done well so far to keep picking wickets at regular intervals.
